Nutrients

Hydroponic nutrients typically come in an A/B format, where two separate solutions are mixed into your water to provide a complete feed. The A solution usually contains macronutrients such as calcium and nitrogen, while the B solution contains phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and trace elements such as iron and manganese. They're kept separate in concentrate form because certain minerals react and lock out when stored together. Dry-powder A/B nutrients are the budget-friendly option, costing a fraction of liquid alternatives, mixing fresh when needed, and lasting much longer on the shelf. Liquid nutrients cost more per litre but are pre-dissolved and easier to measure, making them a good starting point for beginners. Both work across all hydroponic systems, so it comes down to budget versus convenience.
